Artificial intelligence in gaming has been around for a while, the most popular focus being in-game bots. But I’d like to point your attention towards the more artsy side of AI and its potential impacts on society and future technologies.

Hi! I’m Danielle Trinh, a rising artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) enthusiast.

As a brief introduction to who I am and what I like doing: I am currently a second-year programmer for my high school’s FIRST robotics team, Robodox 599. I am an online volunteer for Robotics for All, and I also enjoy ice skating, rollerblading, drawing, and watching YouTube or Twitch in my free time.

This past September, I was selected for the intermediate/advanced cohort in the ten-week AI Scholars program, developed and taught by Stanford alumni and graduate students. For the first half of the program, I learned the basic concepts of ML from my instructors, Sydney Zink and Lucas Agudiez. Through Google Colab notebooks, lecture slides, and other materials, they did a great job of helping me develop a basic foundation, which I am now expanding upon with guidance from my mentor, Cade Crow. My group and I are creating a culminating project on distracted drivers. Overall, the program has been a well organized and intriguing experience. I’ve had the chance to work with some amazing people, so I definitely recommend checking it out.

MY UPCOMING CONTENT

I will be starting off my blog by writing a three-part mini series regarding artificial intelligence in gaming and art. Specifically, we’ll first explore the ways AI is incorporated in video game graphics by going through a couple examples. In the other two parts, we’ll go more in detail to look at how exactly the AI is trained, which will cover neural networks and generative adversarial networks, as well as real world implications of AI in these fields.

Follow me in my AI journey if you are curious about different aspects of this technology or if you just want a friend to learn along with! Hopefully this won’t just become another a generic blog. See you soon :)
